Changelog.

Everything the MCP connector can do is now a plain HTTP API too, for scripts, automations, and agents that don't speak MCP.

• REST API. Every connector tool is POST /api/v1/tools/{name}, described by an OpenAPI document at /openapi.json, with JSON errors that say what to do next. Same tokens, same plan boundaries. See the REST API docs.
• Scopes. Apps connecting with OAuth can ask for just forms:read, responses:read, or the write scopes, and the consent page shows exactly what they get. Existing connections keep working unchanged.
• A public docs server. A second MCP server at /api/mcp/docs answers questions from these docs with no sign-in.
• Docs as markdown. Append .md to any docs page URL to get it as markdown, handy for pasting into an agent.

Formbear now opens on Home: a greeting for the time of day, a 30-day response chart, your recent forms, and what needs your attention. An assistant floats over every page.

• Needs attention. Surfaces forms with unread responses, untouched drafts, unpublished edits, quiet forms, and workspace items waiting on you.
• The assistant. Ask about your workspace and get the answer in a side panel, with the forms it names as cards. One question is one AI action.
• Suggested changes. Ask it to change a form, review the edits, apply or dismiss. Improve and Suggest questions open the same panel.
• Describe a form to create it. From the assistant, or Generate in the New form menu.
• Forms as cards. The Forms list is now card rows with quick actions on hover. See the home page docs.

Fixes

• Rating numbers on dark-themed forms now use the form's text color instead of disappearing into the background.
• Editing a question over the MCP connector without restating its required flag no longer makes it optional.
• Creating a workspace no longer leaves the dialog spinning after the switch.

Formbear now speaks the Model Context Protocol. Add our MCP endpoint to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, or Cursor, sign in to Formbear when it connects, and let your agent work with your forms and responses, all through the same encrypted, EU-hosted paths the app uses.

• Sign in, pick a workspace, done. Formbear is its own OAuth 2.1 authorization server for the connector, built on the account you already use. You approve the app, choose the workspace it may use, and it acts with your access there, stopping the moment you leave. Connected apps are listed under Settings → API, where you can disconnect one or pick a different workspace for it.
• Read your data from an agent. On every plan: list your forms, read a form's questions, pull its responses (each answer keyed by its question, decrypted server-side), and get per-question summaries.
• Build and manage forms from an agent (Pro). Have your agent create a form, add, edit, reorder, or remove questions, change its settings and design, and publish it. Every question keeps a stable id, so an agent can edit a form that already has responses without breaking them; it asks before a change that would discard answers. Duplicate, delete, or restore an earlier version too.
• Analytics and insights for the agent. Ask where a form's visitors came from and how many finished, get an AI digest of the responses, or have the agent look something up in these docs.
• API tokens for tools and scripts. Where pasting a credential once is easier, create and revoke workspace tokens under Settings → API. The secret is shown once, and a token stops the moment its creator leaves. See the MCP connector docs.
• No new company in the loop. The MCP server runs on our own EU infrastructure: your data never leaves it to make this work.

Find the response you are looking for without scrolling. The Results tab now has a search box that filters the table as you type.

• Search across every answer. Type any text and the table narrows to the responses that contain it, matching the answers to every question, including uploaded filenames.
• Works with the status filters. Search stacks on top of the All, Completed, and Incomplete (Pro) tabs, so you can narrow both at once.
• Private by design. Search runs entirely in your browser over the responses already on screen: nothing is sent anywhere to do it, and your encrypted answers stay encrypted at rest.

Formbear now has a full AI assistant, processed entirely in the EU. Describe what you need and review what it proposes: nothing lands in your form until you apply it.

• Generate a form from a prompt. Pick "Generate with AI" in the New form menu, describe the form, and edit the generated questions like any other blocks. See generating forms with AI.
• A copilot in the editor. An assistant input sits at the bottom of the canvas: ask for new questions or changes, review the suggested blocks, and apply them in one click. "Improve with AI" rewrites a selected question, and "Suggest questions" proposes what to ask next.
• Understand your responses. The Results tab can summarize what people said and pull out the standout findings, working from server-side aggregates and a bounded sample rather than your whole response set. See AI response analysis.
• On every plan. AI is metered in actions: 5 per month free, 100 per month on Pro. Viewing an existing summary is always free; only generating or refreshing spends an action, and a request that fails is refunded.
• European by default. Processing runs with Mistral AI in France, raw response sets never leave our server, and your data is never used to train models.

Your form links can now carry data. Two new tricks, on every plan:

• Hidden fields capture query parameters invisibly. Add a hidden field named utm_source, share formbear.app/f/abc123?utm_source=newsletter, and every submission from that link records where it came from: in the response table, the summary, and CSV exports. Perfect for UTM tags, campaign names, or your own user ids.
• URL prefill fills visible questions ahead of time. A parameter matching a question's label becomes its editable default: ?Email=jane@example.com&Color=Blue prefills the email question and selects the Blue option. Values that don't fit a question are simply ignored, so a mistyped link never breaks a form.

Both work with choice questions too (match options by label, comma-separate multi-select values), and hidden fields are never required, so a link without parameters submits as usual.

Formbear is out. A design-led form builder, hosted in the EU, with a free plan that doesn't run out: unlimited forms and responses (within our Fair Use Policy), on infrastructure that keeps every answer in Europe.

What ships in 1.0:

• A document-style builder. Type / to add questions, drag blocks to reorder, split long forms into pages. Twelve question types, from short text to ratings and file upload.
• Forms that look like yours. Themes with full control over color, type, radius, and layout; light and dark; custom fonts; a guided one-question-at-a-time mode; custom CSS and custom domains on Pro.
• Fast, accessible public forms. Server-rendered, keyboard-friendly, and working even without JavaScript. Share a link or embed anywhere.
• Results you can read. A response table, per-question summaries, CSV export, and privacy-friendly traffic analytics built in.
• An AI assistant (Pro). Ask questions about your responses and get grounded answers, aggregated on the server so raw answers never leave it.
• European by default. EU-owned hosting, response answers encrypted at rest, GDPR compliance without an asterisk.
